The Importance of What You Think About You

cotton candyHenry Ford is quoted as saying, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't, you are right!' What you think about yourself, your abilities and worth as a person has everything to do with the quality of life have and the success you have in it. Your thoughts influence your feelings which influences your attitude. Your attitude colors your behavior leading to the actions you take which ultimately leads to the results you get in life.

Think of your thoughts as food for your mind and spirit. If you take in a steady diet of cotton candy and junk, your body and your quality of life would quickly deteriorate. The same is with the mental, emotional and spiritual food you consume. A steady intake of drama, negativity and crap, well you know the rest.

Here are 3 things you can do to rid yourself of negativity and improve your quality of life instantly:

1. Remove yourself from negative people, radio, tv, and any other materials that detract from your mental state.

2. Replace negativity by creating powerful and positive affirmation that speak to the fullness and incredible human being that you are. "I am" are two powerful words. Whatever you put behind I am, you are. If you say you are broke, you are and will be. If you say you are weak, sick, too good at, hate..., whatever. That is what you are! Create your list, keep it with you, and recite it out loud a minimum of 3 times a day.

3.  Next, create a list of successes you've had in your life. Let this serve as a reminder like riding a bike or tying your shoes, things may seem difficult and scary at first, but push through, keep going, and practice, soon you'll be cruising along.
